hey everyone! laura posted a comment, but asked that i post it on the main screen because it's such big news! kev passed his swallow test & is now EATING!!! apparently in order to celebrate this he ate an omelete for breakfast, ziti for lunch, & chicken parm for dinner!!!!! woohoo! you're awesome kevin! campus hero's here we come! hahaha

hi all! i just wanted to post another update... kevin called me the other night. unfortunetly i was not at home at the time. he did, however, speak to ruthie. thanked her for a cd mix that she had sent him. she said he was pretty hard to understand, but apparently kev has been harassing laura to be able to call. she hasn't wanted him to b/c he still is pretty hard to understand on a telephone...but after being called the "phone nazi" she finally relented & kev called. which is great, b/c kev really needs to get his old "phone self" back again! i think most everyone can agree that they can have some pretty great conversations with kevin on the telephone!
i also got an email update from laura. she said that kevin is moving his left leg a lot now. he also stands in a standing frame for 30 minutes at a time and has a lot better balance when sitting. he's going to be in st charles for rehab until november 2nd... no word on where he's going after that, but i'll keep you posted. i have not visited him since his move to st charles, but from what i understand visitors are still very much welcome!
i'll hopefully post again soon with more word on kev! -lisa

hey everybody! i just wanted to repost this on the main page to be sure that everyone sees it...st charles is messing around with the levels of meds that kevin is gettting & he was actually able to halfway stand with BR & laura holding each side of him!!! they will continue to mees with the levels of his muscle relaxers until they find a medium between the pain that kev can bear & the physical work that he can do... let's wish him continued strength! i'll write more as i find out...
